Who Are You, Really?

As you walk into Subway you notice him right away and give him a kind smile grateful he is allowed to sit in that booth and warm himself. The wind chill this morning was 8*F and you can't even imagine being homeless and sleeping outside in this weather!
Carefully you choose from all the yummy options for your sub sandwich, all the while pondering how to reach out to this man. You glance over your shoulder (yes, he's still there) and wonder if he's eaten or did he only have enough money for the soda in front of him?? What to do, what to do?
You approach the register, noticing the sign for broccoli cheddar soup~ Ooooo, Yum!!! That is the answer, a bowl of hot soup. Quietly (near tears) you add a bowl of soup to your order . . . $2.50 is a small price to pay to show another the love of Christ. . . .
Gently you set the soup before the man saying, "this is for you". He mouths, " thank you" pulling the soup closer protectively as he looks around, appearing fearful someone will take his soup. As you walk to your car to head to your warm home and soft bed, he ever so slowly opens the crackers as though opening a treasure chest . . . . .
