Water Gallon Challenge~ days 1-3

Hey, there! Are you doing this challenge? How is it working for you? What are you seeing about your past water consumption habits? 
For days 1-3 I gave up coffee. This wasn't the end of the world as I'm not addicted to caffeine. 
So, after watching my orogress and the "joy" f lugging around a gallon of water, I've decided to take an alternative approach. I'm going to track what I drink in a normal day with more attention given to drinking water.  . . 
                   ** 1 Gallon =128 ounces ** 
*Day 1~ 1/2 gallon water 
*Day 2~ 16 oz vinegar water, 20 oz water, 12 oz coffee  
*Day 3~ 16 oz vinegar water, 32 oz water 

Funny how drinking water rarely crossed my mind and now it's there nudging me all day! 

On a side note . . remember when water tasted really good, really refreshing?!! It tasted like water, not chemicals . . Remember drinking from a garden hose? A crick? 

I remember drinking from the cricks up in the woods when we lived in Bradford, PA and that water was so crystal clear, cool, refreshing . . 

Water isn't the same . . Except maybe rainwater . . and that only sometimes . .

Sitting here . . my day a day of prayer and fasting . . I have allowed hurtful words to affect me beyond reason . . . to cause me to sit scared to be me . . to be open and loving to you . .

Why I Want to Move "There"

So I'm actively looking for a new place to live. IveI found a place that's literally been calling out to me as I drive by . . This has been going on for a while (since summer). It's a place in need of Jesus in a big way.
I could easily move to a place that's deeply infused with Jesus, but that's the easy way and shurking my duties to God.
Yes, I do crave comfort and peace .  But, way more than that, I crave service to Him.

I've begun a new Bible study . . well, really I'm starting an old one from the beginning. I had finished Day 17 . . took me 14 years to do it!! But, as I went to read Day 18 I accidentally opened a previous day and realized it would do me well to reread that day!!
So I am beginning again. This renewing of everything I learned previously can only be beneficial!!

So I am beginning  Purpose Driven Life  again from the beginning . . more solidly ..  rather than simply reading each day's section and applying it to my life, I am looking up every Bible verse . . so it will obviously take more than 40 days.
But worth it!!

Water Gallon Challenge

Hey, so I read about this challenge in an article on my blog feed. It was so well written and funny I decided to join in!!
This is how my gallon jug looked after my first day, yesterday. Now I must say that I don't like the taste of Kroger water and this gallon had both a bitter after taste and a faint chlorine taste. Still in all I did feel better by bedtime than normal.
*My "normal" is little to no water for days.*

Winter City Lights on Maumee Bay

Hey there! Welcome back .   . Matt and I made a quick Pokemon go road trip to Cullen Park in Point Place (lots of Pokemon hang out there!!) and I stopped to take a few quick picks of the lights on the water.

If you have time to stop by on a night when there is some ice on Maumee Bay you can hear the treat that is the ice shifting on the waves and wind. It is at the same time interesting and astoundingly eerie!!

All My Latest Tidbits!!

Hey, here I sit feeling totally blessed and wanting to share with you what's going on. I have found a new outlook on my future. I have come to terms with some things in an amazingly content way.
First of all, marriage. Yes, I still believe that, as he and I both fully understood God's will for marriage, we are bound to be obedient to that. But  . . . I can also clearly 'see the forest for the trees' and know that, although (as far as I can tell) he has not biblically remarried, he has been living with the same woman off/on for 10+ years and seems content that way. I have prayed for him and for marriage restoration since we divorced in 2002 to no avail and I know God will not force anyone to follow Him.
Hector's choices are what they are.
And my life must go forward for Him regardless of what anyone else does/doesn't do.
We all know God forgives (look at the life of King David) and goes on to use people in mighty ways but that is no excuse for deliberate disobedience. Yet, I also know my ultimate calling is to be a pastor's wife and that will require me to eventually get remarried.
But definitely no rush.
I am content . . so content.
Second, our housing situation. Where we are is not acceptable in so many ways (I promise to blog those after we are moved and free of this place!!). I am planning to buy a used trailer, rehab it and live in a local trailer park. This would give us our own home where we would have control of maintenance and repair (ie: consistent heat/hot water).
October 25th can't come soon enough!!
Third, I am getting a French Blue Angora Rabbit  . . hopefully Friday evening. I haven't named him yet . .  and I will be setting up a blog just for bunny activities.

The first rabbit will be a male.
I was thinking of naming my rabbitry 'chapelier fou lapin' which is French for Mad Hatter Rabbitry . .  not sure if this is available . . or, actually, I think I prefer a variation on that name!! Then I could name my rabbits for the Wonderland characters but use the French translation.

Stepping Back and Reassessing

Hey, all . . Sorry I've been bit AWOL again . . I've been thinking and looking at where I am vs where I know God needs me. It's 6°F here on the homestead and we've more than survived the snow storm . . Really wishing it had been another snowpocolypse!! Sweet!! Had no idea
Matt's sound asleep (well Manicotti and I just went in and tickled him) and I put in a Christmas movie. Coffee's made and yummy. Going to reorganize apartment before I go to work at 3:30pm
But, back to what's kept me away . . Yes, I do try to post #whatif Prompts  . . I try to schedule those ahead as much as possible. . . and I do schedule other posts ahead when I can . .. . .  But I had to totally revamp my phone . . Matt put all important stuff bon the memory card then he rebooted it (but that's not what he called it).  . then I had to reinstall all my apps . . I've lost access to my Yahoo email as I can't remember the password and the phone number linked to it is an old number I had way back when we lived in Illinois!! And I lost all the drafts I had set up for this blog :(  ok, so not all perfect but the blogaway app was refusing to post those anyways . . Soooo, now maybe things will work better . . We shall see over time . ..  my goal is to transfer 3+ posts from Patreon or WordPress (or both!!) every day so that all my posts will be here together in chronological order .  giving renewed logic to my blog. I also need to finish the process of adding a button to this blog allowing you to donate if you feel you are getting something tangible from it. . . that was also attached to the Yahoo email address so will be a complete restart . ..
I think God has me pause, reassess my life and direction then He quietly puts me on a better path. I look back and see that, although the path I was on was okay, the new path is a clearer way to His goal for my life!!!
And that is where I am right now ..  .

Tonight's Bible Study

KJVA Bible. Psalms 148:5-6

I don't normally share my private Bible study notes on here . . mainly because it's part of my private conversation/relationship with God. But, tonight was special . . and really hit me.
I had turned on a YouTube video from  Melody Joy, one of my most favorite Christian singers as I started my study. On the screen at the beginning was Psalm 148:5-6 and I felt God wanted to say something to me through it so I wrote it at the top of the page intending to look it up later.
I opened my notebook and Bible, wrote out my prayer
Dear Lord, thank You for the time of prayer and fasting today. W/out You none of this would be possible~ and yet that can't begin to explain it. So much You do for me~ and I am so undeserving. Thank You!

and what I felt His answer would be
You are my child.
Then I opened my Bible the way I always do in this sort of study . . I pick it up with both thumbs on the pages and use my thumbs to blindly open it to whatever page God chooses. At first my right thumb tried to move further back in the Bible but I stopped it and opened where directed. As I looked down I thought, "that's odd it's Psalms". . then realized I was looking at the exact verses from the song!
This is what He gave me
Praise Him . . Follow, love, obey and He will lead you.

"The List". . . .revised

Hi!
  How are you doing on your lists?
    Are you still doing this list periodically?
I think I revise mine about 4-5x/year .. 
  It's refreshing to sit down and let my personal priorities flow onto the paper in this format. It's also quite revealing . . I never quite know how it will turn out!!
             If you've never done 'The List' here is how to do your own:
* Grab paper and pen (no erasing!)
* You will have three (3) sections and get three (3) minutes/section.
* You need to write the first things that come to mind in the order they come to mind (no editing!)
*At the top of the page write "life"  . .this will be things you want to accomplish before you die.  .you have three minutes to make that list (time yourself)
* Next write 'one year' and follow the same steps as you did for 'life'
*Finally write 'month'. Same as above except that it's what you'd like to do if the Dr gave you a month to live (not format I used for 'month' on this list . . I wimped out and just did things I'd like to do in the next month)
* When finished it's time to consolidate   .  . So if you have the same basic thing on the lists cross off the more vague entries leaving only one
*Once you've consolidated you need to choose seven items from whatever is left and write those at the bottom. Now, in the next week you are to allow one solid hour to work on accomplishing each of those (so each gets an hour).
   Now I must say that I usually get part way through (maybe 2-3 hours put in) and realize my list needs to change . .
  *** Also, I must seriously warn you that this seemingly innocent list making task will completely change your life if you allow your thoughts to freely flow onto the paper . . Hold nothing back from this process and you will find a you who is the true you ..  your inner secret hopes and dreams will shine.

Remember the scene where Elizabeth and her friend are drinking a Thumbs Up?
I actually found this beverage by accident!!
I was on my way to a client's house and really really needed a Coke (I allow myself fun periodically). I was sitting in the parking lot by Reddy Food and Spices playing Pokemon go so figured I'd see if they carried Cokes. Well, they don't actually have American Coke, but they have the Indian (as in from India) version Thumbs Up!! It is so yummy!! 😋

Are you a Coca Cola drinker? Have you tried Thumbs Up or the Cokes made in Mexico?
My comparison~
*American Coke~ tastes "chemically"
*Mexican Coke~ tastes natural
*Indian Coke~ tastes natural

Hard to drink the Mexican and Indian Cokes slowly . . I can't explain why. Maybe because both are so refreshing.
They each have a distinct taste/flavor and both are delicious. If I was throwing a party I would prefer to serve these vs American Coke.
~ side note~ I think the Indian Cokes may have more caffeine than the Mexican 

If you're a Coca Cola drinker I'd seriously recommend trying any Cokes made outside the US. The differences are Amazing!!!

Urbex in Toledo's Pedway

There are lots of quaint shops down here . . It's a fun place to explore and there are spots to buy a lunch or some baked goods.
We didn't explore anywhere not publicly accessable as we want to urbex without getting arrested for trespassing/B&E. I imagine there are quite a few interesting things beyond the locked doors. I heard there are tunnels that have been locked off since Promedica attained property downtown. The tunnels for the pedway supposedly connect to those leading to the Promedica buildings so were locked for security reasons.
It would really neat, and possibly a money-maker, to give tours of all sections of the tunnels. Maybe include a few historical displays also. There could even be school tours so the kids could see the possibilities of what could be done!

Spiral Hope Quilt Top

A bit of stitching almost every day and I'm getting so close to finished!!
I need to look through my stash of material and find something nice for a backing plus a, possibly contrasting, color for the binding.
I am thinking I have about two (2) weeks left on the quilt top alone if I keep at it diligently.
Pinning then tying on the back will take only an hour or so . . pretty quick!
Then I'll make a label . . it will be hand-stitched and read (approx):

Having Love above all Else

KJVA Bible. 1 Corinthians 13:1-3

Does it matter how much you do for church or the homeless etc if you can't be kind when no one else is watching?
If you are so gifted by God to do many things for His kingdom yet are cruel and ruthless in your personal life what does that say to God about how you view these gifts?

Who are we really?
In the secret private places?
What do we say about others when we think no one of importance is listening?
Do the gifts He has given us mean anything if we are mean or selfish in our hearts?
How does the way we treat our spouse privately and publicly show our true relationship with God?

Where is God?

As I did my Bible study tonight the Lord led me to this:
KJVA Bible. Ezekiel 8:1-18
[1]And it came to pass in the sixth year, in the sixth month, in the fifth day of the month, as I sat in mine house, and the elders of Judah sat before me, that the hand of the Lord GOD fell there upon me.
[2]Then I beheld, and lo a likeness as the appearance of fire: from the appearance of his loins even downward, fire; and from his loins even upward, as the appearance of brightness, as the colour of amber.
[3]And he put forth the form of an hand, and took me by a lock of mine head; and the spirit lifted me up between the earth and the heaven, and brought me in the visions of God to Jerusalem, to the door of the inner gate that looketh toward the north; where was the seat of the image of jealousy, which provoketh to jealousy.
[4]And, behold, the glory of the God of Israel was there, according to the vision that I saw in the plain.

[18]Therefore will I also deal in fury: mine eye shall not spare, neither will I have pity: and though they cry in mine ears with a loud voice, yet will I not hear them.

I had prayed for perseverance and strength, guidance in where to focus and for guidance for Hector, Matt and myself (my little family).
He is always with me . . Close by to listen, strengthen and reassure.
This was a reminder to stay away from places where there is jealousy and debauchery.
Thank You, Lord for always leading me.
