7 Ways of Finding Water in the Wilderness
10 hours ago
Well, we're all back into the school year, aren't we? Seems like I send Matt back with mixed feelings every year. On one hand he and I love the school he's at. On the other hand I miss him.
But every evening he flirts and teases me until I'm okay again.
And so, Matt has been picked up by his bus and I'm getting ready for my day at work. God has provided yet another truly beautiful day!!!
Life on our humble homestead brings the promise of fresh peach preserves. There's just something about having our own produce to put up for the long, cold Chicagoland winter. Being able to reach into our pantry for homemade preserves instead of store bought (heavy in preservatives) jam makes summer seem to last all winter.
I am so impressed with the Bill Jacobs dealership in Joliet! I was treated with amazing respect and courtesy. Joe Fondriest made the process as painless as possible and took time to make sure I got the car I need and financing I can afford.
I would highly recommend you visit
2001 W Jefferson St
and ask for Joe Fondriest!
Thank you, Joe!
Good morning! Welcome back.
I have to ask, have you considered your survival water supply? Do you have at least a few days of water set aside? A one (1) week supply? What about a water cachement and purification system?
As I refilled a jug and put it in the cabinet, I realized we only have about 1 1/2 days of water set up! What happened? Well, apparently neither Matt nor myself was refilling jugs as each was emptied! So, so not good!!! Then also was what we learned at Joliet Junior College about plastics degrading and being unsafe so that only hard plastic jugs should be reused for longterm water storage. All the thin, flexible plastic jugs had to be thrown in the recycling bin.
At this point I can honestly say we only have about 6-8 gallons including the one I rotated into the fridge this morning.
We still only have 2 1/2 days of drinking water stocked up.
Tonight I'll have to show Matt our plight and we can devise a game plan.
How prepped are you?!?!
