Maybe loving is about waiting,
About just doing what has to be done,
Then sitting patiently.
Patiently until the other person is done.
Patiently until they are ready.
Until they are comfortable.
Maybe loving is just about being there~
Being available to talk
Or go for a walk.
About just being.
Being silently side-by-side.
About the deep conversations that silence can hold in love.
And maybe, just maybe,
Loving is about their needs first
And not selfishly considering our own.
Maybe it is about who we need to become to better fit them.
All the while they are becoming who they need to be to better fit us.
And maybe loving is washing dishes together
And shoveling snow together
And being short on cash together one year
And having a nice vacation together the next year.
And staying up all night with sick children together.
Maybe
Loving is about what it takes to do it all
Together.
