Hat Progress...

Got more done than I expected. This is it for today. Time to sleep. Going to take a dehydrated poke berry as sometimes thos helps with the arthritis pain and swelling, though not as much as I wish!
Have a blessed night, all!

Another Hat

Knitting and watching 'White Comanche'.
We've had a good day, but I'm tired with a sore throat and my left shoulder and arm are sore. So glad I have Matt here to pack our lunch for tomorrow and set up coffee for me. He's such a blessing!
Although it's very very early for me to say this, I am so ready to settle in for the night!

'Ask Yourself Questions...'

Found this at work~ think it may be just what I need! Any book that asks questions about my life so I can rethink it at my own pace and change it my way has to be good!!!
I've just barely started chapter one. So far the questions are interesting and more than a little illuminating as to how I see myself and others and how I perceive differences between people's beliefs and ways of doing things.
I am hoping this book will help me 'level-up' from the plateau I'm currently stuck on to where I really should already be. I'm looking to make major life changes as it's time for me to consider retirement. I need something, hopefully 'Ask Yourself Questions and Change Your Life', to set me on this new path/ inspire lists to get me there.

Haggai 1:2-4

As our evening settles I find myself drawn to my reading of 'The Resolution for Women'. When I read my Bible study books I find myself rereading and praying one some paragraphs for days. Haggai 1:2-4 reference is one such incidence. I just keep rereading the importance of putting God first~ His will, His house~ always first in our lives.
Right now I am at a place of attempting total obedience to anything He asks of me. Now we all know I specialize in rebellion, but obedience to God is something I find easier every day!
Obedience
Brings
Blessings...
Blessings of...
contentment, compassion, safety, security, inner peace, love, joy, faith...
I would so much rather be obedient to Him than have anything else I can imagine!

Thanksgiving 2013

Even though Bessie had been thawing in the fridge since Monday, she was still mostly frozen and had to be force-thawed under hot running water!
Matt has prepared a healthy and yummy stuffing for her and is filling her as we speak. He has chosen diced apples, onions, garlic and orange peppers as well as croutons for her stuffing.
Once she's nicely stuffed,
he will drizzle on
extra virgin olive oil infused with lemon juice
then pop her into the oven
for a cozy
all night slumber party!

Day 331/ 365

As Matt prepares the turkey and stuffing, the fire warms our toes.
Have a blessed and safe
Thanksgiving!
Remember all He has done for you...
Remember all who gave so much so you could be free...
Stop and choose one thing you can do to help someone who finds themselves homeless for the holidays...
I challenge you to do more!!!

Day 331/ 365

Getting a fire going to keep us toasty until the turkey goes into the oven!
I would so love to get set up to use my wood stove like an oven. Maybe by Christmas? I could cook a nice ham without using my gas oven!! Ooooo! I must do a bit of research and a few practice runs... hmmmmm...

A New Hat...

As we settle in for the night I am quietly and prayerfully working on this hat. White 'blankie' yarn and green worsted yarn form the band around the forehead. I was going to make it green, blue and beige bands, then realized I would be using too much of my bright colored yarn in one hat... so I switched to just green and brown (leaving the blue accent rows in place).
I am feeling that I am terribly short on hats compared to those yet with cold heads. Does it sound odd to say that too many every day activities interfere with knitting hats for the homeless? That is how I am feeling! Although the arthritus would not allow me to knit more, the little snippets of time I find to knit seem way to short to do what needs to be done. l
To sleep...
or...
to knit?
