What if We Accepted and Encouraged?

Matthew is my son and I am so proud of him! He's only 7-years-old and has ADHD, OCD and bi-polar depression yet he was able to recycle enough aluminum to buy his own bike and a headlight/taillight set!

How great is it to be 7-years-old and own your own scrap metal business?! He really enjoys crushing and bagging his cans, but the best part is the weekly trip to Joliet Auto Parts (on Washington St.). Matt loads his cans in the trunk at home and unloads at the scale! Then he proudly takes his receipt into the business office and collects his money. Three tall kitchen bags of crushed cans will net him $5.00- 7.00.

Matt usually purchases one goodie (Gatorade) from the vending machine in the office, then puts about 1/2 in the bank and voluntarily contributes to gas for the car!

Don't you know someone with 'special needs' whom you could show a little more acceptance of? Could you encourage them to expand on their strong points?

We all have strong and weak points about us. Rather than preying on each other's weaknesses, what if we accepted each other for who we are? What if we found one honestly encouraging thing to say to every person we talk to?

What if that handicapped guy on the corner was your child... how would you want him to be treated?

What if we all accepted and encouraged everyone?

Illegal Aliens CAN Vote in US Presidential Elections!

The news showed people voting in our presidential election who weren't citizens of the US!

Is anyone besides myself upset by this?!?!

Why hasn't a recount been done?!

Why aren't the ID's of all the people who voted being checked for the RIGHT to VOTE?!

Winter Weather is Coming!!!

Are you ready for winter?

The Farmers Almanac is calling for a harsher than normal winter this year and I'm thinking about our windows.

These are not drafty at all, but some heat loss is inevitable.

This is the year I will finally re purpose comforters as window coverings.

A quick trip to the thrift store for "1/2 Price Mondays", a few alterations and the extreme cold won't be able to get in!

Snowed in With the Kids?!

What happens if you wake up to find all the roads blocked and you are stuck at home indefinately with all your kids?

Are you stocked on munchies?

A few new board games?

Hammers and nails so they can build a fort?

Now is a good time to search local garage sales, flea markets and thrift stores!

I found a great deal on quality bacon today! I am packing it in freezer bags with 2 slices per person. The bags are labeled with the date and location of purchase (in case of recall).

A little stocking up will help you sleep at night!
