Good Morning from Our Humble Homestead!

Hi! Welcome back to our humble homestead!
Come around back and see the giant healthy plants around our gray water garden. Don't you just these plants!?!? We have chocolate mint, tiger lilies and burdock in this area along with strawberries and parsley (not in picture).
Its a veritable edible garden of loveliness!!

I would so love to invite you in as I just brewed a fresh pot of coffee, but Matt is in the tub and I have to finish getting ready for work...

Today...

Home from pantry, been out back 3x with trimmer attacking weeds.. Matt hauled in food and cleaned out car then put his bikes in shed (dumping giant bags of cans accidentally all through shed in process)... area rug went to curb as I really have no way to clean it... I've hung out 3 loads laundry tonight and did some dishes... bleaching out coffee maker (past due)... groceries put away and pantry is locked (where did I hide the key???)... I've had my bath... Matt bagged cans in family room and is sweeping and mopping in there while his laundry runs.... CRAZY from my T-Mobile Android device

A busy day...
A morning at work in an air conditioned office doing book keeping...
An afternoon with my paid workout...
An amazing thirteen year old young man repairing the front fence all by himself...
Running the trimmer across the edge of the front parkway...
Cutting back the dead wood from the black raspberry and a rose bush and finding the old raspberry canes to be an innovative tunnel system for an angry mob of swarming and biting ants...
Poison ivy and ant bites as a final treat...
Topped with a good dose of heat exhaustion....
After a bath this Chickie is done!!!

Day 200/365

A short day at work deep cleaning #909 (paid workout program!!) followed by a quick emissions test (car passed!!) then 5+ loads laundry washed by me, hung by Matt. Then we folded loads of clean laundry that thought it had been forgotten after I washed a couple loads of dishes and made a crock pot of leeks, egg plant and zucchini with chunks of tender pot roast...

Prayer of Jabez and Hat #56 for the Homeless 2014

As I drove to work this morning, after kissing a sleeping boy (sometimes the only time I get to kiss my teen's cheek), I noticed the homeless woman is still sitting, with all her possessions, on Cass St across from the Harrah's Casino parking garage. She sat there all day yesterday... I passed her three (3)times and she appeared to not have moved. And this morning? There she still sat... and her hands were held over her face, as if she were in deep desperate prayer. And I long to sit beside her and offer an ear and prayer together (as I have little else to offer).

Today I took my car to Aleet Auto for an oil change then walked to work and walked back up the hill later to retrieve it...
Hence 1.1 miles each way through the beautiful Historic Cathedral Area... I saw properties I never noticed before... and daydreamed a bit about selling my homestead and relocating....

Psalm 113 and just Reading to Feel Better?

As I open my Bible for a quick reading to get me through work till I can get a break to come back to my car and read more I realize I am guilty of "reading the Bible to feel good". That's so not what I want. And, honestly, I feel better and am less easily injured when I read to learn more vs to just feel better. I absolutely have to get back to real Bible study for knowledge and true understanding!!!

Please, bless my life to follow Your will...
Give me more ministry and guide me to prepare for this ministry...
Keep your hand upon me that my life will be Yours...
Keep me from evil.. I know its necessary to deal with mean/difficult people to grow, but please help me deal with it better...
Keep me from pain as I can only take so much...

It's so nice out here this morning I thought I'd take five (5) minutes and trim a bit out back. As our weed eater us about dead I only get five (5) minutes at a time... LOL... regardless, I am thankful to have trimmed a bit around the back patio and our pitiful little vegetable garden!

Hi! Welcome back!! How's your day winding down? After a full and busy day we're settling in and quietly watching a bit of TV. Matt is playing World Craft 2 and I'm knitting yet another warm hat.
Tonight I decided Matt and I simply have to participate in MorningStar Mission's Box City of Hope... no idea what Friday night in September it will be held on, but we missed last year (I caved to teen desires) and can't miss again... wonder if we can do more than simply attend...? I have a bit of a plan and will share it later.....
