Head Coverings for Christian Women
Recently I've found more information on Christian women's head coverings and wanted to share it with you. I have to mention that I am not currently covering . . not because I don't believe I need to as I know very well it's a necessity. I ran into problems with my head coverings and simply stopped wearing these. Not a good excuse. I have ideas for a better head covering (won't slip off so easily, cuter, not a copy of everyone else's . .). Finding this new (to me) information is (as He always is) Right on Time!!!
So . . .
Here are the related passages I've found:
{Please share your thoughts}
Genesis 6:2 in my Old Scofield Reference Bible . .
My "NIV Compact Dictionary of the Bible" explains the phrase 'sons of God' . . .
1 Corinthians 11:10 from my "Companion Bible" . .
this cool Bible offers some seriously in depth explanations of the verses. Note that, in speaking of Christian women's head coverings it refers to angels as the reason and sends us back to Genesis 6:2 where the angels were lusting after women . . the hair of the women is what attracted to angels . . .
note that the angels 'took them wives' meaning the women were given no choice in this mating with fallen angels . . think rape . .
So the head covering is to protect us from fallen angels.
Yes, I know this sounds a bit much and I understand your hesitation, but, upon studying the "Book of Enoch", a book eliminated from the Bible by man, not God, I have found there is much to learn.
My suggestion to you ~> don't simply believe me. Look it all up for yourself. Use your best study Bible or head to Barnes and Noble or your local Christian bookstore and look this all up. Compare for yourself what these passages are saying. Find a solid pre-1611 Bible that includes the Apocrypha and begin reading all the books of the original Bible that men removed.
Know the truth for yourself . . .
Then use this knew, more in depth information to be a truly correctly obedient Christian!!!

Indiana Bear
A reminder that we are free to live wherever we choose . . .
In a 'sticks and bricks' house (paying a crazy mortgage) . .
On a boat (should we choose sailboat or houseboat?) . .
In a tent . .
In a pop-up camper . . .
In a cavern . . .
In a treehouse . . .
Maybe, just maybe, we should try each!!

Down My Rabbit Hole . .

I walked 1,673 steps so far today . .
Reassessing my plan . . .
What are our primary needs?
What would we like?
Under what circumstances do we thrive?
Seeing the positive difference moving from the house to the camper has made in our lives . .
What next?
Obviously anything negative has to be purged ASAP . .
So . .?
We (meaning I) make a new list of stressors . . .
Then we begin a plan to systematically purge those items!!
WooHoo!!
Let the games begin!!!

Hanging Out at Shangri-la
Even on a rainy day one must stop to appreciate all they have.
A quick perimeter check offers just such an opportunity!
St. John 20:19-20
This morning I opened my Bible . . .
He led me to this passage . . .
"19 Then the same day at evening, being the first day of the week, when the doors were shut where the disciples were assembled for fear of the Jews, came Jesus and stood in the midst, and saith unto them, Peace be unto you.
20 And when he had so said, he shewed them unto his hands and his side. Then were the disciples glad, when they saw the Lord."
~ copied from Scofield Reference Bible KJV
Because it was the first day of the week the doors were shut ~ because it was Sunday they were not holding church services. This is because we were commanded to hold Sabbath on the seventh day of the week . . .
Genesis 2:3 "And God blessed the seventh day and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made."
If you look at your calendar the seventh day is Saturday, plain and simple. Nowhere in the Bible does it say we should worship and rest on Sunday, the first day of the week!!
Worship and rest on Sunday was not God's idea, it was man's. Constantine, in particular. He wanted men to serve the sun god so changed the Sabbath to Sundays, allowing only farmers to be exempt from the mandatory rest day.
Who do you serve?
Who's Sabbath do you follow?

De-Clutter ~ 500 Things in 14 Days =2642 Items so Far!!!

Hi! Welcome back! How are you doing with this challenge?!!
We spent a good portion of Sunday sorting out more of our house and these are some of the 239 additional items we eliminated. I can tell you that the more we de-clutter the better we feel.
We dropped the bin along with three (3) antique suit cases off at MorningStar Mission. The organizers and boxes were left at the curb along with a chair (most were taken by Wednesday evening).
I am noticing that the less stuff there is in my house the more I like the house itself.
Less
Is
Definitely
More!!!
2403+239=2642 items eliminated!!!

Organizing/Prepping in Limited Space

As we consolidate all our worldly possessions into our new mobile homestead I have been wondering what would happen to our preps. I mean, seriously, can one fit a family And six (6) months of supplies into a small bug out location? We are beginning the process of finding this out.
You can see in the photos how I've organized my dental supplies and gels/body washes. These handy bins (plastic shoe boxes) slide neatly into the tiny bathroom sink base. Soon I will add more of these~ for bar soap (love Dove!!) and shampoo/conditioner. I believe I can easily fit a six (6) month supply of bathroom items in the allotted cabinets. As for toilet paper, I am planning to stack that in the tub/shower. We can pull it out when we shower so we're basically using wasted space wisely!!
How are you minimalizing and organizing?

My Pedometer App ~ thinking ahead . . .
Two hours on the clock and getting a bit of exercise in!
I wanted to share my thoughts . .
I've been thinking ahead . . .
I need a solid plan B . . .
You know, that plan for if the bottom falls out of your life!
If there were a sudden disaster, death, or the place you work (or live) were sold, what would you do?
I always have a myriad of ideas running through my head as well as some fairly solid plans . . . plans can be fun, like all day daydreams while gazing at clouds . . .
Daydreams are fun, but being prepared helps me sleep nights! I have noticed that, since we've moved and feel so comfortable in our new home, we are no longer prepping. . . not good!! We absolutely can't allow ourselves to become so comfortable we stop moving forward.
I would like to see us buy our own used RV yet continue living at our current location for 1-2 years. This would allow ample time to upgrade and customize to our heart's content while saving money for our future adventures.
What is your plan B??

My Cute Little Kitchen!!
I am slowly getting it organized figuring out what we do/don't need. I am definitely having fun settling in at our new mobile homestead!!

De-Clutter ~ 500 Things in 14 Days. . .
Hello there!!
How are you doing with this challenge?
Still sorting and eliminating clutter?
Over the last few days we have sorted out more to throw away and donate . .
Tonight, at the laundromat, I threw away more excess . . .
So many items had been used long past their actual usefulness!!

Then, outside the laundromat, I ran into a sweet man who pops into the laundromat to watch TV . .
He had his grocery cart with a few empty black trash bags in it . . .
Quietly I led him to our trunk and blessed him with as many empty aluminum cans as he was willing to accept. . . .
He wouldn't take all the cans (he really wanted to get inside to watch TV) . . .
It was heartwarming to hear him singing as he helped me pull cans out of my trunk . .
Between what we eliminated at the house . . .
Old clothes and bedding I threw away at the laundromat . . .
And all those cans . . .
We added 214 additional items to our tally!!
2189+214=2403 items eliminated . . .
So far!!!
And we're still not done!!
Stay tuned!!!!!

Arthritis

After a night feeling my hand slowly cramp up, seeing swollen arthritic knuckles this morning was no surprise. Red and sore is the story today. . . . I've taken ibuprofen for the swelling . . this is the first time I've tried this (I usually block it out) . . . we shall see how much, if any, this helps . . .
This repeated scenario had me thinking on my way to work . . . what would happen if this became so bad I couldn't work? If I had to go on disability my check, last time I checked, would be between $500-700/month!! That's not enough to raise a son, obviously. This is part of the reason we've worked so hard for so long to decrease bills/expenses. The cheaper our lifestyle is, while adding in as much free fun and luxury as possible, the easier it will be to retire on basically no income.
And, based on this potential/highly possible scenario, I am starting my own business selling the items I make . . . hand made knit stocking caps and hats, baby clothes and quilts . . . I've found that changing my activity regularly eases the pain and swelling. If l arrange my days to include some hand sewing, gardening, wood carving and making dream catchers (and a tiny bit of knitting) I should be okay.
So,
What is your plan?
Would your SSD check be enough to support you?
What if there is no money from the government?
Have a plan . .
Work the plan!
