1000 Marble Challenge~ Weeks 12 and 13

Yes, we're still at it~
still tracking our weeks~
wanting to ensure discipline is tempered with love and patience~
and real quality time together!

As I called Matthew to the 1000 Marble Ceremony, I asked him how well used the last two (2) weeks have been. "Stupendous!" he said, "Because they were fun!!!"
And yet, over the last two (2) weeks, we've done a lot of cleaning, sorting and throwing things away~ and, I was very sick with a bizarre sinus infection so that we've skipped two (2) Mommy/ Matthew movie dates...
Just goes to show~
life truly is what you make it!
It's all in your attitude and perspective?
And my son has a truly positive attitude and perspective!!!

Day 331/ 365

As Matt prepares the turkey and stuffing, the fire warms our toes.
Have a blessed and safe
Thanksgiving!
Remember all He has done for you...
Remember all who gave so much so you could be free...
Stop and choose one thing you can do to help someone who finds themselves homeless for the holidays...
I challenge you to do more!!!

1000 Marble Challenge~ Weeks 4 and 5

The last two (2) weeks have been crazy-busy! We've had church events galore, transition at Matt's school, going new places and making new friends. All this together has made for an amazing feeling in our home of moving ahead and pulling closer together!
Our blue vase now has two (2) more marbles and the tiny canning jar is happily still empty!!!
No wasted weeks for this family.

Accumulation of Caring

Well, we returned to work after a week at camp to find a sizable pile of empty pop and beer cans waiting in the hall outside my office!
You know, it really touched my heart to see how many people here care enough about Matt to save their aluminum for him to recycle.
Then it dawned on me, my family room's already overflowing with cans he needs to crush! Help!
So I had him load all the cans, from the hallway at work, into the back of my Jeep. And that is where they still are~ grrr...
As we speak Matt's crushing cans (he'd stashed in my office closet) while he watches 'Spiderman'.
It will be nice when all are crushed and cashed in.
Then I'll have my family room back!
Until he sets up in there to do bike repairs/ rebuilding that is...
Ahhhhh, Parenting! :)

Tidy Time!

Well, I still need to sort though all Matt's school and medical records and store those in the attic. Still in all, it's neat and clean with a spot to sit and tie shoes on the way out the door!

Isn't there just something about a neat kitchen table that just sets off the whole room?

Steep Hike Up!

My heart rate got up to 164 by the time I reached the top! I can safely say maintaining that heart rate while at this weight might just kill me!

My Boy Scout

Sewing patches on a new hoodie for Matt. We really wanted a red hoodie as that's his Troop's (Lockport 50) color, but no one seems to carry red right now so we settled on navy blue.
This is really going to look sharp!
