Walking and Praying . .

Sometimes I just need. . . I really need to go back the woods . . get grounded . . breathe the sweet aroma of moss and leaves . . listen to a crick. . .
And pray . . yes, spend precious time in the woods with my Savior . . just walking together and chatting (or me learning to listen) while enjoying His creation.

Why Upside Down?

Matt and I noticed this symbol on a grave in Woodlawn Cemetery and were perplexed.

The meaning is pretty kool!

The upside down torch signifies the end of a life.

*normally an upside down torch goes out*

The torch still lit represents everlasting life/going to heaven.

How kool is that?!!

God used David, a man who lusted after and had an affair with another man's wife (Bathsheba) then had that man murdered so he could marry her himself!!
And God made him a king and a mighty leader!!!
   Aren't you glad God loves us in our imperfect mess?!! 💖
   Imagine if He required us to be perfect. . I, personally, would be laying in a ditch somewhere . . seriously. Before Jesus jumped in, sent my church to stand across the street from the dumpy apartments I was living in and preach to us, I was a lost hot mess going under further and further every day. My life was out of control and I could feel it but couldn't figure out how to stop it. It was really really scary bad.
But Jesus saw a future for me. He sent my church (not my church at the time as I was no longer going to church) to my corner (510 Eastern Ave, Toledo) to reach me. He cared enough about me . . saw my plight . . heard me crying out . . and He sent help!
He didn't stop and say, "Ooo, not her. . she's not good enough, holy enough, thin enough . . she has too much baggage, history, too many issues . ."  . No, Jesus called to me right in the middle of my personally designed disaster!
He saw where I was, BUT He also saw who I could be in Him and He moved on that potential.
I am so forever grateful to God for seeing the good/hope/love/potential in me and sending a rescue vessel.
Imagine this world if He didn't forgive us and rescue us?
Imagine if he'd not forgiven David?
Where would we all be now?!!

Thinking Ahead about Matt's Future!

Hey there . . so I am looking ahead a bit to when Matt graduates high school and gets his own apartment. . and, as him not going to college simply wasn't an acceptable option (yup, that was his plan), I did something about it . . I had him take a serious shower and get ready to go have fun . . then, without his previous knowledge (aka no opportunity to let me know he didn't want to . . or time to get a serious attitude before we arrived) I took him to University of Toledo.

We arrived at the campus and found a spot to park . . not an easy feat! Then we followed the signs to admissions for new students and found that they were having a free tour in 15 minutes (that unplanned "coincidence" was purely God stepping in!!)!!! Matt filled out a contact card so they can keep him up-to-date and we settled in to watch a brief orientation program. After that we began a student-led tour of the campus.

So . . after the tour Matt was 100% addicted/sold on going to UT!! Yes, mission accomplished!! We headed to the campus bookstore and bought him a UT hat and lanyard which he wears every day . .
In 1 1/2 years Matt will graduate high school so we need to make sure he is set up correctly to succeed. He's going to check with his counselor to make sure he's taking the necessary classes as well as either ACT or SAT testing (test results are needed for the application to be processed). Then he has to watch his grades and study habits as well as practical living skills (laundry, cooking, etc).
We have a busy yet exciting tine ahead!! ✏✒📝📖📚

Praying and Waiting ..

Yes, I am still praying... Praying and waiting . . I have been doing some serious soul-searching . . where am I really in my prayer life. . . Bible study . . Bible reading . . general day-to-day everything . .? Is there anything that could be holding me back??!? Introspection can be good as long as it's not too harsh. I do need to read my Bible more. . that's for sure . .  . . . could that be gumming up progress? Could not spending at least an hour every day just sitting and reading my Bible for fun be throwing a wrench the size of Boston into the gears?
Honestly, I don't know. I think I'm good on the rest so that must be the issue. . gotta fix that . . gotta find a Bible at home that's easy to just sit and read . . set blank notebook and pen with it (to jot down things I want to study later!!📖😊📚📝). I have several versions of the Bible so I need to start with one (1) and keep at it till I find what I need . .

The Resolution for Women

Yes, I am back in this book. It tends to center and ground me. I'm in part 2, section 1, chapter 3 . . I've only begun this chapter and am appreciating the emphasis on being whole vs perfect. Feeling like I have to be "perfect or else" is something I truly struggle with. Is my praise/worship, body, hairstyle, clothing, etc perfect enough for God to use me . .? While I know He loves me as I am . . well, I still struggle for the approval. . from Him . . and from those in authority. I dream of a life away from judgement where I can praise and worship authentically as me . . wholeheartedly and unashamed. . that will be a glorious day!! 🙏🎶📖🙌

We're Not Prepped

So I sit here reading this post by The Haunted Wordsmith  I was almost as prepped as I could get living in Joliet, IL. I mean we had everything but farm animals. We were set. 

Now we sit in an apartment ..  yes, we still have the skills, but we have no land for a garden  or chickens . . we have no farm tools . . our 2+ year stash of groceries did not make the trip to Ohio . . 

When the economy finally collapses we are in a bad spot. Yes, we do have a place to live, but we re so very far from self sufficient!! 

This has to be addressed ASAP

Good morning, all . . I'm back to normal, sort of . . blessed to have the life I have and looking forward to where he is taking me . . trying to not overthink and take control from Him . . that can be a HUGE challenge for me as I seem to thrive on anything prepping . . seriously like to be always getting ready for something . . sitting and waiting on Him can be such a trial . . I am obviously a Martha struggling to learn to be a Mary!! 🙏 I know that God has shown me as much about my future as He thinks I can handle . . and He's shown me great grace and mercy in the ways He's forgiven me . . and I am grateful 🙏 and, as I ponder all He's shown me I've come to realize things can change . . broken hearts 💔, like  broken bones, will mend with time . . and, really, that time of realizing and mending has come and gone. . . so I sit in the here and now . . contemplating what He truly needs from me for the next 24 hours . . and waiting for Him to show me a future renewed . . for as things/plans have changed so must my future change . .  He will not make any of us follow Him. . . and if part of a future plan changes direction then He will simply reroute . . I am not at all worried but am wrapped in anticipation of all He has for me!!

pt 38~ Secret Hallway and a Cauldron!

Allen and Celeste carried her new things upstairs. Bed made and groceries put away, they checked the time and realized it was already 4:30pm! How could the day have slipped away so fast??!

"Allen, I'd really like to put in an hour on Arnold's website before we do anything else. Do you mind?", Celeste asked.

"Sounds good! I've got a project I can work on while you do that. Then let's get supper and organize our plans.", Allen replied. As he stood gazing into her eyes he saw more deeply how vulnerable she really was and the impulse to protect her was almost overwhelming! Little comments and gestures were such huge insights into the broken bonds that had created huge obstacles in her life. He pulled her close and stroked her hair then let her go.

Wandering around her new apartment Celeste noticed a door she hadn't spotted before. It was narrow and wedged into a corner so that it was literally squeezed between a built-in bookcase and the corner of the wall in the hall outside her bedroom. "Wow! More storage space. Bet this is a mini linen closet like Grandma had. Delight covered her face as she pulled the door open. Much to Celeste's surprise the door led to a narrow hallway. Allen pulled a small flashlight from his pocket and they stepped gingerly into the narrow hallway. The walls were stone, cool and mossy with a smell of damp endless years closed off.
As they slowly progressed down the hall they came to a tiny window. It was a tiny diamond-shaped bit of sunlight smaller than Celeste's fist. As she drew closer she began to feel for a doorknob or catch somewhere around the window but there was none. Allen began to slowly look over the wall around the window thanking God he always kept a flashlight in his pocket. Near the baseboard Allen spotted a small button and pushed it with the toe of his sneaker. A narrow door opened to a small balcony. The sort of balcony that is maybe more of a decorative item as it was only about two (2) feet deep. It had an ornate wrought iron railing with small gargoyles on the posts. And, in the corner, oddly enough, sat abat, newt and cauldron! At first these appeared to be long lost halloween decorations but, on further inspection, Allen noted they were indeed real, but very very old. What had this building housed long ago??!
"We'll get a file going for background info in this building. We need to do indepth research.", Allen said."Let's get back inside before someone spots us!", and they headed back into the damp and dark of the cold stone hall, Allen snapping a couple quick pics of the balcony set up before securing the door.

Bible Study Plan

Hi! Welcome back! So here I sit looking through most of my Bible study books and thinking I may want to post these a different way. Lately I've been only posting the verses and what God showed through these. I am thinking I want to share, when applicable, which Bible study book/resource led me to those verses. You will see that I am in 'several' (what's the quantitative definition of 'several'??) different books as well as many Christian YouTube sites . . my study is not thoroughly random though. I am led by the Holy Spirit as to which one I need at any given moment. So, as I sit here pulling together a 'couple' books to take to work tomorrow.  . . and I am wondering where I put my copy of 'The Resolution for Women"  . .? Hmm . . that study is quieting . . humbling . . very good for a soul overloaded/overwhelmed ..  must locate that book!! There are also more books I barely started and need to get back to, but these are both super intense and need to be done singly and when I have time to seriously concentrate/focus. Even then I will probably still reread each chapter at least twice.
How do you organize/handle your Bible studies?

Kudos Amanda at Waffle House!

This morning a friend and I visited  Waffle House and were truly spoiled! Amanda was our waitress and she happily listened to stories and events repeated over and over beautifully feigning surprise and delight with each and every telling. The love, compassion and kindness that she showed my friend was touching.
If you have a friend or relative who is a senior (or even special needs) then a meal served by Amanda is what you want.

Early Morning Prayer

You know how it is.. . God wakes you before 3am just so He can spend time alone with you . . that special time when He holds you close as you pray and gives you insight and answers you get at no other time . . and you sit there with the security of time alone together . . no worries how others see you .. in your jammies . . barefoot . . hair a serious hot mess . . and He still loves you in such a seriously intense way just as you are . . crazy flaws and all!! ❤ It's at this time that my prayer changes . . on it's own . . as a response to His love for me . . and sometimes the changes really surprise me in their beauty . . it is nothing I could create on my own . . I am not musically gifted by any means . . I even get complaints about my singing. . . . but my songs to Him in prayer are created by the love He and I have for each other . . love songs of prayer to my Heavenly Father . . 💙🎶💜

Where are the Children?

I have been looking at all the reports of missing children . . and I am wondering . . where have all these children gone? In looking at   this one article I can see a very small snapshot of this epidemic . . 901,125 in one year . . . that so scary sad . . this many children missing from only nine (9) of the world's countries!!

  If 22,000  children go missing every day worldwide, where are all these children?

As I sit back in my apartment watching my child play a video game I wonder how so many . . so so many children can be missing worldwide and no one seems to know where they are . .
Seems mighty odd. . . in the US there are  certain states  where more than the 'normal' number of people go missing.
How is it that some states with huge national forests have large numbers of children supposedly wandering into the woods never to be seen again while other states which also have huge forests don't have the same pattern?? I lived in Bradford, PA from 1976-1981 . . we lived at 3 Iroquois Dr in Bradford so had the woods across the street. We roamed the woods (way up the logging trails and deep into the forest) freely and without incident. And, that entire time, I don't remember ever hearing of a child missing in the woods. It was a small town where, at that time, we could sleep with our front doors unlocked.
I have found however that eighty years ago a little girl went missing in the woods Bradford and has yet to be found. But that seems to be an anomaly. I can say, though, that there are creepy and weird stories about all the national and state parks. I'd encourage you to look at those as well as cross check what I've shared here.

So, what do you think? Where are all these children? How is it that they've "magically' disappeared?Why can't NATO get this under control??
Why are we allowing this to happen to this extent in the U.S.??
Does anyone have any answers?

How is it that we are unable to find all of these children? I can't help but believe someone knows where these children are. I am baffled that world governments aren't making this more of a priority. Could it be that the governments are a part of the problem??

He and his buddy are cute and little. Last night I refilled their water and saturated their sea sponge. Then I gave them a pile of fresh veggie peels to munch.
Sooo . . now they are up and about a bit. I really do need to name them and spend some time taming then. Until then they are still fun to watch and super low maintenance. 🐚

Where am I?

Hey there . . hoping all is well with you 🌞 I am at home. . . you can't always know where I am by my posts as I schedule ahead . . meaning I love to share all the fun things we do but I also like some privacy and safety . . no doubt most of my followers are sweet kind people . . but there is always that one creepy person . . so, usually I schedule posts. . . I may be at the park and my post says I'm home . . or I'm at work and it says I'm home cleaning. . like today. . my blog says I've been to two (2) different parks . . . in reality I'm at home. . skipped church because I don't feel good. . . probably a sinus thing . . it appears to have drained into my stomach all night . . oh.for.joy. 😒 actually I've been like this since yesterday morning . . or maybe even Friday as I pretty much stayed in bed all day . . wow, so it's really affected my week more than I realized! But it's just sinuses draining/trying to kill me . . it will end eventually. . fortunately I only work four (4) hours today, and not until 5pm with an easy client💜 until then I rest .. sweet Manicotti came and snuggled me early this morning . . h definitely earns his keep! 😽 and Matt has brought be food, drinks and huge hugs .. ahh 👦

Then there is the issue with email addresses attached to my site. Initially I set it up with my gmail account. Later I switched to my yahoo but WordPress, in all it's funky wisdom, decided to keep both attached and lock me out of some areas . . and their staff were unable to fix this . . GRR . . 😡

So I've put in yet another request for help. But, honestly, I am thinking I should simply set up another blog here and import all my posts to that one . . if WordPress will allow this . . I may have to use my gmail and backdoor the switch (aka: trick WordPress into letting me have my posts back)!!

A Snood .. ?

Well, hello there. So glad you're back. Can you stay a minute, please?

I've pulled out some of my things that have been packed away. This is one of my snoods.



I haven't worn my snoods in a while. I bought both extra large so I'd have plenty of room as my hair grows. This means my hair still does not fill it out. 😒 Also I'm not sure I'm positioning it correctly.

As it's getting colder out my fun snoods, etc will be an easy option. . . warm head, cover bad hair days, experiment with ideas . .

Do you wear snoods? What tricks do you use?

 Yesterday I began a time of prayer and fasting . . 31 days to be precise. This is a time to add a focused prayer for my future husband and concentrate on him. A time to look toward my personal growth in the Lord so I am ready when this man begins to sit beside me. I want to be a blessing and helpmeet to him and need this focused time to prepare for that. Yesterday I noticed the clouds are ''stacking' again. I noticed, while in Illinois, that this stacking seemed to occur prior to major earthquakes and tsunamis. Now, I'm not a trained meteorologist. . just a mom closely observing . . 
Have you seen any similar changes or  connected weather events ?

Changes Coming!!

Hi! Welcome back and come on in . . take your shoes off and let's share a pot of coffee while we chat. I am planning some changes to my blog and want to give you a quick peek at what I'm thinking . . First, I am planning to move my blog again. Yes, again. Unfortunately. I used Blogger for so many years and many of you have watched me grow there, in my writing as well as my spiritual maturity. But . . it lacked things I needed . . I really wanted to be able to add videos . . and it was quite glitchy . . so I moved to Patreon . . and I've loved the new opportunities it has given me .. But . . I'm lacking reader feedback and I think that may be due to the paid posts . . to me it presents as a 'gimme money' blog and I don't want that! I need a site where I can see what my traffic looks like, engage my readers and get some discussions going, post videos periodically and have the opportunity to also make money from my writing. I feel WordPress is that site and will be working diligently this week to relocate. I will move all the posts from both blog sites to WordPress then add new posts from there. Don't worry!! I'll notify you way ahead so you don't miss anything.
