Joliet Prison

I wonder why it's 'off limits' . . .
This was a place to  . .
       Explore . .
         Fish . . .
            Study the history of prisons . .
A place I've hung out with my kids . .
A park was planned and was to include:
    soccer fields . . .
         baseball fields . . .
               hiking trails to three (3) caves
It looked like this was to become a seriously nice community park . .
[Even if it does sit within easy shooting distance from the Bad housing projects above it on "the hill"] . .
                And now??
       Well, the state has taken it over, but not to provide the planned (and promised park?)  . . .
           OUR spring fed quarry is no longer available for fishing  . .
       We can't explore the woods . .
                Or hunt for those caves . . .
          And forget trying to figure out where Monkey Hill is . .  . .
                 
   Any thoughts?
