A Short Sunday Walk

| Well, we walked 1.0 miles round trip to 7-11 so I could get the latest coupons and so we could get back in the habit of hiking. Although this was a very short trip, it sure was nice to get out in the fresh air!!! |

Chicken for Lunch!

| Well, good morning! Come on in! I'm afraid the coffee's cold now, but feel free to add sugar, milk and ice for a refreshing quick iced coffee. I've just popped lunch onto the wood stove to simmer slowly. So far I'm cooking chicken leg quarters with chilli caramel butter. As this gets closer to being done, I will add freshly cut country fries and a veggie of some sort. Ah, deliberately organized... Makes life so much easier! |

Temperatures Fall as Sun Rises?!

| The outdoor temperature has dropped from 23F to 21F in the last hour! It amazes me how things have changed so that the outdoor temperature falls as the warmth of the sun hits my side of this planet. What's up with that? Anyone out there know the cause of this weird phenomena? |

Knitting and Laundry at 5:37am

| As I pop 'Nim's Island' into the DVD player and start a planket soaking in the washer (yes, I'm back on laundry duty!), I've added a couple pieces of wood to the fire so Matt's toes will be warm when he wakes in a few hours. Although I'm working on yet another hat for the craft fair, I am thinking about other items I'd like to make and projects I need to finish. I would like to work on one unfinished craft project a week until all are done! Some projects were started twenty (20) years ago then set aside for one reason or another. Now it's simply time to finish each and close those chapters of my life. I think this is part of moving on/ crossing over~ attraversiamo. You really do have to tie up lose ends to open the next chapter of your life. I need the next chapter... Carefully... Deliberately... Attraversiamo!!! |

| Well, not being able to sleep, I am up, tending the fire, doing laundry, sipping coffee with honey and munching pumpernickel toast with Irish butter while I watch 'Aladin' and knit! I am so spoiled!! Okay, so I admit I stopped the washer so I could hear the movie and the hat is to sell at the craft fair (qualifies as working), but I am so enjoying this moment in time. This time to myself is allowing a much needed opportunity to pray and listen for answers... |

| Since I woke and can't seem to fall back asleep, I've started coffee (I guess it's time to get up?) and have the fire going a bit better. Now to start another load of towels to hang when the sun realizes it's morning! After that I'm pouring my coffee and getting out my knitting... ... |

| This is a very good Psalm to read to help check oneself for proper Christian behavior. As I read of how David has behaved and how he can proclaim this to God, it is a sound reminder to stay on the narrow path! |

| 39F outside and we're running around barefoot and roasty-toasty indoors!! Tonight we're doing a little light cleaning and organizing as well as devising a game plan for spring chores. And our movie choice tonight? 'Revolution' is Matt's pick and a good prepper training video IMHO. |

2nd Hand Knit Cotton Rug

| Tonight I'm finishing up projects and resting. As I recover from an odd allergy thing that's going around, I'm finding rest to be critical. I was feeling quite a bit better until I found myself in an area high in dust! I'm going to be drinking a lot of water to flush all that crazy dust out!! Here, on the homestead, we are in the throes of a variety of little projects involving house and yard clean-up as well as projects to enter at the county fair! We are at a spot of laying the groundwork/ foundation for what we want in our lives. It"s a good feeling to make even the smallest amount of progress!!! |
