A Building is as Clean as Dirtiest Area

Well, this picture is from the bathroom stall in the women's bathroom in the Walmart on Jefferson St, Joliet, IL. The entire women's bathroom floor looked similar to this, if not more littered with paper waste. A sad sanitation example for an establishment carrying groceries!
This is the first in a series I've been intending to do on cleanliness of the public buildings I visit.
Check back regularly to see what I find as I go about my normal daily activities!

My Bibles

As I sit here doing rresearch on the holy days/ feasts/ festivals God intends for us to celebrate, I am oh, so grateful for my small collection of Bibles and Bible reference books.
I have the King James Version Bible, New King James Version study Bible, Scofield Reference Bible King James Version (copyright 1945), and The Dead Sea Scrolls Bible.
For reference books I have The Bible Readers Companion and the NIV Compact Dictionary of the Bible.
I know it seems like a lot, but, when doing research on a Bible topic, it's nice to have multiple versions as each is worded differently and offer varied amounts of information clarifying each verse.
Obviously, in studying for deeper understanding of the Word, I just can't seem to have too many options.
By the way, this is not an extensive list of all my Bible study materials on hand, but simply what I'm using tonight. I wish I had materials with a clear explanation as to how sanctified Christians are to celebrate the seven feasts!!!

Good morning! Welcome back to our humble homestead! So nice to see you again.
It's 18F here in Joliet, IL and I'm very grateful for that. All those negative temperatures the last few weeks were a bit much to deal with!
How is your morning? We're semi-motivated today. Breakfast was scrambled eggs with fine milled flax seed, instant potatoes and chilli caramel butter cooked in grease saved from last night's steak dinner~ a yummy start to the day! Matt has boarded his bus (sans glasses as he has no idea where her left these). I have today's first load of laundry started and coffee brewing. I wasn't going to make coffee this morning, but, after passing the coffee maker several times, caved and started it up.
I am back on Musinex (Walgreen's version) as the pharmacist recommended Musinex (and drinking Lots of water) to clear my chest. Al though I'll be coughing more for a while, I'm grateful to know I'll feel like me again soon!
Have a super blessed day, folks!!

Me~ Day 119

Grateful to be home. Matt made us steaks and salads for supper. We've both had nice long hot baths and are relaxing watching 'mona lisa smile' again.
Sitting here thinking about how I'd like my life to be in 1 year, 5 years, 10 years... what can I do now to prepare for retirement, or at least a satisfying and comfortable semi-retirement!

Joshua 24:15~ Make a Choice!

As I sit tonight sifting through a year's worth of Bible study notes and randomly pulling some out to read, this verse jumped out at me. It was from a presentation on '1000 Marbles' and really made me think about how my life choices appear to my son... How important it is that he see in me that service to the Lord is where our hearts should be. It was a relief to hear that he does see that in my daily walk.
Knowing that we have approximately 1000 weeks with our children from birth until they move out, and these weeks go by all too quickly, it is so critical that our daily walk, as parents, be honorable and wholesome. As we move forward, I need to see to it that Matt and I use our time together wisely whether attending church, cleaning the house, hiking in parks or camping out back!
Every day our lives should reflect Joshua 24:15

Well, good morning and welcome back! Today is a 'balmy' 1F! Yea! I still had Matt wear his thick red (his favorite color) hoodie (zipped and hood up) under his warm winter coat. I have to keep my best guy healthy.
Sharkie, Matt's hamster, and Bob, my hermit crab, will be toasty and happy indoors. Sharkie has his wheel and will be sweating all day. Bob has his heat lamp, not that that's relevant as he's buried himself again.
I'm getting ready for work and thinking ahead to Bible study tonight and questions I have for Pastor...
Stay warm folks and enjoy your day!!!

Knitting as We Settle Down to Sleep

As night settles in on the homestead I'm knitting and Matt's busy with his Legos. I'm super tired tonight and having a lot of coughing fits (thanks to someone's cigarette smoke) so am taking it easy. However, even as I knit, I am accumulating items to sell at craft fairs. As a single mom there's simply very little true down time as even in down time I am re-assessing our current situation and looking for new ways to move ahead.
The end goal is to raise a solid God-fearing man (a man after God's own heart) and provide a stable happy home life. What does this look like? For us it's always thinking WWJD... How would Jesus perceive our actions? Can we explain our behavior to God?
And on the point of our home life? For now it's our humble homestead. I was getting a bit ahead of God and planning my next home and major home business. Enough of that for now. I must be content here and finish what He has sent me to accomplish...

When Life Seems Upside Down

Sometimes things we can't control gey so far beyond bizarre that only God can make it right. Sometimes only a heavy dose of prayer and Bible study can calm the soul and bring sweet peace to a restless spirit.
For .e today os one of those days. A day when I could just scream, "Really!??! You're actually going to do that???! Don't you see what's going on? Don't you care about the consequences?"
And so, as I settle in for my evening at home with my son, I find my jammies, brush out and braid my hair and delve deep into His word for peace that surpasses all problems.
And, tonight, I remember to pray earnestly for His will in my humble life... What do I need to do next to move forward and serve Him more efficiently and completely.
More of You, Lord, and less, way way less, of me!

Well, the fire's stoked and Matt and I are heading down the hall to bundle into warm jammies. Bedtime is near and the house is toasty from the fire. We've gotten a lot accomplished here on the homestead tonight. A well-earned sleep awaits us, but we will probably be awake another hour. Then we'll throw a bit more wood on the fire and drift off into dreams of happy warm times...

Thinking About "Crossing Over"...

So, my day today has been a series of mental and written lists and notes about where I am vs where I need to be. Long range I would love to own my own business (beyond Avon) and am considering the pros and cons of each possible option. I had thought owning a small coffee shop would be fun, but, after 2 1/2 days sick in bed, I realized that sort of store-front business just isn't a good idea. Yes, I could hire employees who could, in theory, run things if I happen to get very sick again, but I don't want extra hands in the till, so that idea is out.
Currently I am thinking along the lines of a rooming house, but that is down the road a bit and, for now, I'm concentrating more on immediate projects.
Nice thing is that my immediate projects will work towards long-term goals!
Taking over the world one tiny unsuspecting corner at a time!
