Malachi 3

As I sit quietly in my room going though old notes from church, the first that I'm reviewing is a reference to Malachi 3. The point of the reference at church was members not tithing and the budget teetering on the verge of being out of the black and into the red.
But, as I read this chapter (why does every time I read my Bible feel like the first time?!), what jumps out at me is verses 4-5. It is so in my heart to help those others turn away... the homeless, addicts, drunks, prostitutes, orphans and widows. The fourth world needs Him so desperately and are unwelcome in so many churches.
Rather than publicly point out a member's sins in front of the congregation after a private discussion on those sins, wouldn't it be better to encourage that person? They know what they did and where they went wrong. Now is the time to include and mentor them so they stay and grow in Him!
I would love to have a church welcoming to all...
