Rolled Newspaper Logs

Well, hello there! Come on in. I was just sitting here thinking about the rolled newspaper log experiment over the winter. Have you ever used rolled newspapers as logs? What was you experience? I had seen many posts about how great these are and thought I'd try it as used newspaper was plentiful. Let me tell you, was I disappointed! The newspaper unrolled as it burned and smothered my fire! Then I had a wood stove full of paper ash that had to be shoveled out, except that it was too hot in there to move the grate. And so...? I had to turn up the furnace that night! Money down the drain!!!
