Being Grateful

Sometimes it's important to just sit back.... go to that quiet, reflective place... and take a good long look at what you really have right where you are.
For me, there have been/ are a few places that keep me grounded. There was a time when going to my maternal grandparent's farm at 15235 W. Bruce Rd., Lockport, IL did just that. Then, when that property was sold, I would go to Pilcher Park by the ponds or Oakwood Cemetery to tend Cyrus Brunson's family plot. Then neither seemed to do the trick. I have had a longing, over the last few years, to buy my paternal grandparent's house at 31 N. Walnut, Manteno, IL as that house brings a huge sense of comfort to me every time I drive past.
Yet, I am quite content with the humble house I have and am in no hurry to move. I think it's a matter of being grateful for and faithful with all God has provided while still working toward the next goal.
A lot like my dead fax machine. I am grateful for a working, if less glamorous/ clean model.
