| Well, hello and welcome back! Meet my little 'friend'. I found him at work when I was cleaning up an alcove to a no longer used door. He was curled up in a corner and so out of sorts that I was easily able to scoop him up in this container! I drove him over to animal control on Jefferson St in Joliet where they happily took him in and documented where he was found. Mental Note: I need to call and check on him/ her! |

| Good morning and welcome back! A quiet morning here on the homestead as Matt and I are both under the weather. I am planning a quiet day at work, complete with Tussin CF, followed by an early evening/ bedtime. |

30F in Joliet, IL!

| Well, folks, I must admit the homestead is very toasty today. I wandered into the livingroom to check the thermostat and it's 75F indoors! Now, mind you, the thermostat's set at 60F on Sundays since we're home all day, but it has yet to turn on the furnace today! Matt keeps telling me he's too warm, so, as soon as he brings a pair of jeans in from the clothes line, I'm going to have him switch from sweat pants to shorts!! Yeah, furnace won't be turning on tonight either. Nicor gas can leave my money alone! |

| Warming the homestead as it's 24F here. I'm really tired of the cold/ chilly weather and so so ready to play outside! I have plans for relandscaping the entire property and truly need to get started!!! Could someone, pretty please, make it 50F every day until summer?? |

My Tinder Bin is Empty!

| As I go through my homestead I think of a blog entitled 'What if it is Today?' and assess based on that principle. Do we have enough of everything to be okay if the power went out for weeks, someone hit a gas line or the food supply was cut off to our area? Right now my biggest concern is the evry empty tinder bin. Prepping is fun. It teaches Matt and I to think ahead~ plan, plan, plan! And, although it's still fun to be spontaneous, we are learning to be ready/ prepared (prepped) for most circumstances. This gives us a huge sense of comfort in a world gone mad! |
