My Paid Work~Out Program . . .

Good morning all you fuzzy homesteaders!! Hope your homestead is toasty!!! It is 21*F outside here plus whatever the crazy windchill is . . Brrrrrr . . . .
And me? Well, the muscle spasms and pain have finally subsided (YEA!!!) and I'm back to my normal hyper-me . ..  So much better . . . That was horrible and no idea what brought it on either, so no preventative I can do . ..
Now on to my workout program and, I'm hearing, bookkeeping later on today . . .

Day 6/366

My day begins making a breakfast burrito for my angel, bundling him up and sending him off into the predawn darkness to catch his school bus. A blessed morning of smiles and giggles and wiggles with hugs and silly kisses thrown in for good measure!!!

Quilting and Praying . . .

Took a 15 minute break at work to quilt and pray  . .
Although I've been praying all morning . .
He has put someone on my heart to pray for today  . .
Unsure why this person . . why today. . .
But I will be obedient. . .

Gray Water Pond in Winter

I do love my little pond . . When I can, I enjoy watching my laundry water gurgle and splash through all three (3) ponds, over three (3) waterfalls and on through my gardens . .

Welcome back to our homestead!
How are you doing so far on the 500 in 14 Challenge?
Here is our progress so far:
Day #1~ 67 items
Day #2~ 45 items
Day #3~ 80 items

That's 185 total items so far . .
Leaving us only 308 to go!!!

1000 Marble Challenge * Week 118

Another great week on the homestead  . .
"We had fun ..
'New' movies from disc replay . .
We got stuff done, got things cleaned up, worked hard, slept well and vegged out . ."

Chili Spaghetti a la Pantry Surprise

Hi there! Come on in . . you're just in time for supper!!
Tonight I made a big pot of chili spaghetti (maybe missing the chili spaghetti at Frisch's Big Boy just a little?). .
Here's how I did it . .
In a large cooking pot combine:
1 can mexi-corn
1 can chili (with/without beans)
1 can spaghetti sauce
Uncooked spaghetti noodles
[figure all quantities to create desired servings]
Mix well and simmer over medium flame until noodles are tender.
This was a very yummy meal . . Matt asked for seconds (always a sign of true success!!) so I'll be making this dish again regularly!!!

My Paid Work~Out Program . .

Well, hello there!! Happy Monday to you . .
My paid workout has begun, although I must confess that I am having unrelenting muscle spasms across my lower back . . the pain is indescribable (childbirth of my son comes to mind . .) . . .  I took both a muscle relaxer and an ibuprofen at 8:00am, but neither has bothered to even try to kick in . .
I see a long day ahead of me  . .

Wow!! Today, with only barely trying, we have already eliminated 67 items from our household!!!!!!
At this crazy not even really trying rate we will have eliminated 938 unnecessary items by the 16th . . Sweet :]
So, what did we eliminate?
Hats and a pair of waterproof boots to share directly with the homeless  . .
Books we've finished . .
Trash . .
Recyclable items . .
A box of assorted goodies for a friend . .
Assorted items for the MorningStar Mission Treasure Chest (local thrift store) . .

The house feels better already!!!

Gray water ponds on our humble homestead  . . I will surely miss this feature when we move  . . not to worry, though, as I've been brainstorming a way to do something similar on our boat! I think the proper word for our boating adventure will be phantasmagorical!!!!

Homestead Ramblings~ Extra Day Off

Laundry and dishes and cleaning random areas . . a fire going . . snuggle time and chatting  . . . nummies and family time . . and, all the while, counting every item we are eliminating . . working towards the 500 mark!!!

De-clutter~~ 500 Things in 14 Days!!!

Hey there!! Happy New Year to your family from ours!!
I wanted to share with you what we are doing to start off our new year  . . for us 2016 will be a year of major changes . . . one if the biggest will be moving from a 1200 sq ft house onto a boat . . . so, when I saw this challenge on Money Saving Mom's site I just knew it was our answer . .
Between now and January 16, 2016 [i added two (2) days to cover us not sorting on both Sabbath days] Matt and I will be eliminating 500 things from our home . . I did not watch the tutorial video (I am capable of getting rid of things) and neither did I purchase the kit . . instead we are simply tracking each item we get rid of whether trash, items to sell, or items to give away . .
At the end of every day we will post a photo of all we've sorted out!!
And (HUGE added bonus) this will provide  unlimited opportunities for photos of the house as we clear it out, do repairs and deep clean!!!

My Word for 2016

My word for a new year . . .
2013 ~ organize
2014 ~ deliberate
2015 ~ attraversiamo

For 2016 my word is "Peace"  . .
Peace in my worship . . this means deeper understanding as well as being able to find the verses to match concepts so my walk is solid . .
Peace in my home life . . this means sorting and deep cleaning as well as finally moving . . more time for Matt and to delve deeper into his real needs he can't always express  . .
Peace in my finances  . . again comes back to moving . . less pressure to chase money . . having enough money for all our actual needs as well as tithes and a little fun . .
Peace in my relationships  . . this may mean completely severing some while others become deeper and stronger . . also peace in a true loving romantic relationship (not to chase men and not currently dating, but holding these relationships to a much higher standard) . .

What is your word for 2016??
