67% Savings at CVS and Need to Watch More Closely
Hey! Wanted to share my recent trip to CVS with you!!
I did my shopping in three trips today. On my first trip I was able to save 75% by stacking two (2) manufacturers coupons, with in store coupon and a sale! Awesome!! I think we now have a year's worth of deodorant for each of us. This also yielded an extrabucks (in store cash) of $2.
On my second trip I slipped up a "little" . . on a mission like this a "little" mistake can have a huge impact!! I purchased a can of pledge, fabric freshener, Nivea products, Ajax dish soap and Glade air freshener . . the air freshener was a Mistake as it was not an item needed to complete the rebate, was costly and not something I would normally use. Also I did not spend enough on Nivea products and will have to return for one more item. Because of this my savings on this trip was only 48%.
I combined $7.25 in manufacturers coupons and the $2.00 in extrabucks from the last purchase.
For my third trip I purchased the missing item for the pledge rebate (more furniture polish), two (2) gallons milk at $2.89/each (and $1 extrabucks/each) as well as two (2) bottles Garnia Fructise conditioner and one (1) of matching shampoo.
My savings on this final trip was only 21% . .
But . .
I came home with $9.00 in extrabucks to put toward my next purchase!!
So, I may have left with only a 67% total savings . .
But . .
I have $9.00 free and clear to use by October 7!!
WooHoo!!! I just need more coupons and 48 hour days!!!

More Doilies by Lucy Jane (Carr) Joyce
This is the batch of doilies I kept for myself.
Aren't these just too pretty and delicate with perfect stitches?
Aren't these just too pretty and delicate with perfect stitches?
Doilies by Lucy Jane (Carr) Joyce
Grandma's doilies all sorted to mail to my sisters. I kept back five (5) small doilies for myself as that's all I can really justify taking on the boat.
These are all so amazingly beautiful and each a work of art. You know I wanted them all!! My sisters will enjoy these mementos of Grandma.
And mine? Well I have one (1) set aside to potentially use as a head covering (maybe) for church events only. The four (4) remaining I will turn into a wall hanging. I will post pics of the wall hanging, but am planning to enter it at the Will County Fair next year so you'll have to wait until after judging is finished!!
Maybe I can convince my sisters to post pictures in the comments of how they use their new artistic doilies collection!!
What do you say Ladies??

Deuteronomy 22:5
Happy Sabbath!!
Tonight I am catching up on my Bible study notes. Sometimes I study from notes and sometimes I study other ways.
My notes are from Tuesday, February 17, 2017 and taught by Pastor Frank Wallace.
Deuteronomy 22:5~~
I, personally, struggle with this verse. Not that I generally wear men's clothing, I don't, but the determination of the gender-association of certain items is still, admittedly, a bit unclear.
I understand about dresses vs pants, but the concept that any items labeled men's and women's was designed for men then women started wearing these so a women's version was made, but it's still men's apparel so off-limits~~ that seems too much of a stretch for me.
There are men's and women's:
* shoes
* gloves
* socks
* hats
Now, I don't buy my clothing in the men's department and I definitely don't buy my son's clothing in the women's department, but I do wonder how to tell,
"Is it a sin to wear those items on my list?"
I so want to be pleasing and obedient to my Lord as it is simply not enough to only be saved. Once saved one Must also be obedient. Not following the Law, as that was covered by the crucifixion, but by obeying the New Testament rules He has given us.
1 Timothy 2:9~~
To be adorned modestly and without fancy braids and jewelry is important in obedience. Not that one will go to hell for not following this rule, but that one may not have as high a position in heaven due to disobedience.
Is the rebellion of wearing clothing of the opposite sex really worth it??

Letting Go . .
Making a final decision to completely change our lives has been both cathartic and terrifying . .
It is the "letting go" process that causes both feelings . .
We are letting go of everything and turning complete control over to God!!
That, in and of itself, is a lot. But, beyond that, we are letting go of people, situations and things that don't make us happy.
Let me clarify. In looking around our house I see tons of stuff. Most of it I never use. Some of it has been untouched in boxes for 7+ years waiting for me to find time to make a decision about it. I never seem to have time, or those items aren't a necessary part of my life. By snowfall this year I want all items that fall into that category out of my house and my life. We are, in essence, going toward the "tiny house movement" and the simplicity and peace it offers as well as the opportunity to seriously reduce our footprint.
I am looking at situations in a similar manner. There are a few which are harmful to me yet I have allowed them to become an integral part of my life/have become somewhat dependent on them. I will be removing myself from these situations.
And people. . . that's a bit trickier. I have also allowed problems here. I will be putting safeguards in place to stop/prevent harmful relationships.
The relationship and situation problems can, of course, be rectified . . . But, as that would take major changes in other people, I am learning to simply let go . . .
Meanwhile Matt and I have begun the exciting process of imagining ourselves with a better, more peaceful life. The plan to live simply and at peace has changed our entire outlook!!
