Hey there! Welcome back.
Yes, I'm back to working on Caleigh's dolly. She's coming together nicely. Tonight is the last of stitching the body together as I close her up and attch the legs. From there I'll move on to adding hair.

I must say I am so glad I saved that quilting batting as I'm using it to stuff this dolly. The arms and legs are stuffed and ready to be attached to the body.

It is so dangerous when children play basketball in the street, especially a busy street!
Makes me wonder where their parents are?

Red Shirt Friday

Well, friends, it's Friday and I actually remembered to wear a red shirt! Yes, I too am amazed.
But, seriously, wouldn't it be nice if all civilian Americans banned together and wore red shirts every Friday in support of all our servicemen and servicewomen?
http://redshirtfridays.org/
How much easier it is for us to simply pop on a red shirt than for them to lay down their lives for our safety!
Could you join me in this small sacrifice?

Bob, the Hermit Crab

Yes, this is Bob! Isn't he too cool? For some reason he came out tonight while I'm awake (as compared to digging holes while I'm trying to sleep).
From what I can tell he has decided to dig a new hole. Hermit crabs love to dig holes and will stay buried for long periods of time then resurface later.
Although Bob's home is a huge improvement on pet store housing, he is still lacking live plants and trees to climb.
He's a cool guy!
I so have to bring in some thick clumps of crab grass to dig through and good branches to climb on!!!

Making Difficult but Necessary Changes

Sometimes I think I just reach that place where I cannot deny where I am any longer and must change almost everything. I suddenly wake up to the voice of God and realize I have been allowing a bad situation to continue as is much too long.
Has that ever happened to you? You go through your day to day activities the same, dealing with really difficult situations and humbling yourself as you carefully watch your back for years.
Then, BOOM!
One day you realize the situation where you are isn't going to improve.
And that there is absolutely nothing you can do to improve the situation as long as you stay.
That you literally have two (2) choices. To stay and continue to deal with a bad situation
Or
To change your situation!
And so, very slowly and prayerfully, you begin to take the necessary steps.
Step #1~ "God, what is Your will for my life in this circumstance? Is this where You want me? Am I here to grow? Am I serving You by being here?"
Step #2~ "God, where will You send me next? Please prepare me for the next assignment! Please open doors for where I am to go and close doors to a future I should avoid. Help me to be a child who pleases You above all else."

Spring Rain Garden

Maybe it's the Irish in me, but I love a lush, green landscape!
And the Cherokee in me cannot abide being stuck indoors (and away from windows when I am indoors).

Breakfast Burritos

Good morning! No coffee made yet, but pull up a chair quick, anyways!
We're having breakfast burritos this morning. I cooked diced onions and potatoes with pork chorizo and eggs. Then I heated a corn tortilla for each of us on the stove burner, set these on plates and piled on the egg concoction.
Yummy, Yummy, Yummy!!!
