Matt Loves Babies

It was so nice to see how much he really loves babies.
He took such care with this little guy this morning at church.

Pantry Surprise~ Cornbread Casserole

I've added a top layer of Jiffy Mix Corn Bread made with corn oil, milk, sazon and Greek yogurt.
Now to bake at 325F until golden brown.
I'll post a picture when it's done~
Unless we eat it too fast!

I've added a layer of bacon, reserving a few slices to make bacon bits to use all week.

Pantry Surprise~ Cornbread Casserole

The first layer of this casserole is whatever veggies you have left over in the fridge. In my case, it was grilled onions and summer squash along with a few cherry tomatoes.
I'm frying the last of the bacon for the next layer~
Stay Tuned!!!

Well, the best son in the world is headed to school!
After many sillies and a breakfast of a bagel with bacon and eggs, he's ready for a full day of learning.
I can't wait to hear all his stories tonight!!!
What was your morning like with your munchkins?

Fall Garden

Good morning! Isn't this such a blessed day?!
You know, I peeked out my window this morning and would you guess what I saw?! Yes, that's right~ squash blossoms smiling up at me.
What an amazing way to start my morning! Aren't you just so amazed every day at all He provides?

I woke up in a wet bed this morning, even though I woke Matt up at 1, 3, 5 & 6am to use the potty, but I also woke up to the sweetest 'little' boy in the world. He was full of mischief, smiles, giggles and kisses (bizarre little boy kisses). And, as he left to board the bus with his Indiana Jones style hat on insisting I call him Indiana Jones, I was, again, thankful to God for all He has given me!
I am truly over and abundantly blessed!!!

Homestead Ramblings...

As I sit, I wonder...
why am I always thinking...
planning...
dreaming...?
the 'campground' that hides in the back of my mind,
waiting for the day I finally plan it into being...
and looking at the long pauses in progress toward goals...
and wondering
are these 'God-made'
or
caused by myself?
And,
as I sit and re-assess progress
and, once again
change direction,
I do wonder...
where is it I am supposed to be heading?
Apparently, it is time,
once again,
for some heavy duty
praying and fasting!
Not for any specific goal I might conjure up,
but
for His divine will for my life~
more specifically for this next month.
To show me what He needs me to do/ not do next...
for visions of His plan for my life...
for divine direction in all aspects of my life.
AND
for me to
"Run to God, Sister, not to man!",
as Sister Evelyn Mendivel always used to tell me.

She is an Invisible Child

She is an invisible child.
Perhaps she's a reminder of what could have been. Of what went terribly wrong. Or of a mistake made.
She sits quietly in the shadows. No one notices she hurts. Or when she gets sick.
Or no one wants to acknowledge she's there. For some reason they kept her when they could have easily given her away.
She is an invisible child.

Under the Table

As she sits under the dining room table in the dark, she hears him coming. He thinks he's quiet.
Her parents sleep on peacefully. Or do they?
She wonders if he'll find her this time? How long can she sit under here?
The chair legs seem so sturdy~ make her feel safe.
The table puts her in shadow. For now she is invisible. Invisible is good. Invisible is safe.
She is glad she got to the table before he found her.

Blog Repairs

Dear Patient Readers,
I am currently doing intense repairs to my blog and hope to be back up and running today! I found the bad link that was a potential threat. And, although it never actually left any malware, and had really good homesteading ideas, I removed it from the list of blogs I follow. I will advise the site owners of the issue~ hopefully they will rectify it!
Thank you so much for all your patience and faithfulness as I've struggled with these issues. As always, my followers are Awesome!!!
