Hat Progress...

Morning all! Although Matt's still going strong with his lego project, my hand is cramping up and I'm forced by old age to stop knitting for tonight...
Tomorrow is another day...
a splendid day off...
an opportunity to knit more!
I am hoping we'll do a bit of baking...
play Super Mario on the Wii...
go to Bible study...
shovel our drive...
watch more Waltons!
An extra day off is special!!!

Happy 2014!

As the new year creeped up on us, Matt and I sat watching Waltons season two (2), he designing a new lego plane and me knitting a new hat.
We realized midnight was getting close when the church across the street began to drown out our TV and, after a quick and quiet "happy new year", we both went back to our activities.
Praying this year will allow Matt and I to finally realize our heartfelt dreams. . . . .

Headfirst into 2014

As we head into 2014 and the proposed budget cuts, I am left wondering how deeply wounded we all will be? The thought of all these financial cuts coming to those who, for the most part, are ill-equipped to cut back, add income, barter or simply do without basic needs.
I can see our country descending into a bizarre chaos as these cuts come. 'Urban Survival' may very well be a necessary skill even before we hit the scenarios portrayed in either 'The Road' or 'One Second After'.
Stocking up on ammo and having a few small animal traps on hand may become key to survival soon here in America.
I slide reluctantly toward 2014 and yet, I am ever so grateful 2013 is almost over!

Day 365/ 365

After a long day at work, there's something really special about coming home and building a roaring fire!
As Matt and I sit in my room watching the Waltons, he with his new Legos and me with my knitting, there is true comfort in having our own home and the ability to decide how warm we will be. It has not always been that way for us so this is a truly appreciated blessing.
God is watching out for Matt and I.

Well, the snow's still falling with no signs of stopping any time soon! I've heard parts of I-80 are closed (at Rt 30 and in New Lenox) due to accidents.
As I re-mop the foyer floor at work I'm wondering what my drive home will involve....?
'Be careful out there', folks!!

Snow has started in Joliet, IL!!!
I realized earlier that I would rather walk in shoes/ boots on snow than ground/ pavement.
On that note, I'd like to move to Alaska~ as long as I have a nice greenhouse attached to my home!
I can so see me living in Alaska with a little coffee shop, greenhouse and chicken coop!!!
Want to join me???

What goes up must come down...
a lot like the verse (wish I had my Bible at hand) stating not to put yourself at the highest station, but wait for God to put you there, else you be moved lower and humbled...

Hat Progress...

Well, I guess I need to admit my day off this week is over, put away my knitting, stoke the fire and snuggle down into my bed...
